Cakesplosion!

Hello everyone =)  I've been a bit busy moving and I haven't had the chance to sit down and upload any cakes for a while so here's a little assortment of things I've done over the past month.  Thanks for looking!

The idea behind this came from a Hannah Montana napkin. We don't carry the kit anymore so I had to come up with something on my own.

A cross for a Father's birthday

Harvest cake. I love icing pumpkins!

Super Mario cake for a co-workers son who happens to be named Mario. Beneath the question block is a 50 dollar bill in a tiny plastic ring box.
Time to Hunt! Another co-worker's sons cake.  Not only celebrating his birthday, but being at the age when he can get his hunting license.
Colorful Halloween cake.

Alex's Parents

Alex's parents were back in for his 6th birthday.  They are so enthusiastic about his cakes it's so cute.  Here's what I came up with for them.  Like most of my creations, I don't know how they liked it because I was gone for the day.

Happy Birthday

A spooky Halloween cake I made for a mom who ordered her own cake. Yummy icing blood.

A cake for my brother-in-law.  Yes I realize the top part looks like a stick of butter. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to create something out of the extra cake that made sense.

Baby block letters as per the customers request.  Could have been worse for my first time.

Older Works of Art

Here are some older works of mine.

Cross for a communion, made of cupcakes.

Freddie cake for a big fan

Alex's parents always come to me for his cakes.  I hope to see them very soon!

Hey Minnie you're so fine!

Gregory Allen's 21st birthday cake.  The companion cube from Portal.  This cake was HUGE. We ate it for 2 weeks...
This was 4 layers of red velvet cake inside, between the first two was a chocolate chip fudge filling, the second two had raspberry in between and the last two has the fudge as well.  Not to toot my own horn but it was to die for!

Pink-a-thon and Halo

Used lots of pink today!

Ballet themed cake, the customer LOVED it!

Icing in fudge

The yellow tray kind of kills this one, I was trying something ribbon-like with the borders.

Last but not least, the message cookie I made for my boyfriend Gregory's Halo Reach party

Welcome!

Welcome to Icing on the Cake!

Hello everyone and thanks for visiting my brand spankin' new cake blog.  I plan to make this my own place on the interwebz to show off some of the things I do at work. I have been a cake decorator for 2 short years so I am still learning everyday.  I feel that I have progressed a lot with just a short length of training and practice.

Comments are always welcome!

Here are a few to get started with.  These have all been done recently.
